I have a MacBook 2.1 GHz and the maximum memory I can upgrade to is 4 GB. I am trying to run Final Cut Express 5 and when I render video it takes forever. Will upgrading my memory help speed this up. Any info will be nice! :-]
Thanks!

RAM is so dirt cheap nowadays that it makes little sense not to just max out on it.

I've had 4 GB of RAM since December of 2007. $79.99 was dirt cheap back then.

It will not speed up incredibly, as the CPU is the one that is needed the most to render.
But it will run smoother, and maybe you'll experience a slight increase in render times.

This may be a dopey request, but where is the best place I can get the little screwdriver to open up my macbook for RAM replacement?

I'm in NYC if that helps any.

Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes?

This isn't a dopey question. I looked high and low before I found one. Then... my ebay drive showed up and there was one included. :D

Eidorian,

Thanks for that link. I went to that product listing, then clicked "Read All 520 Reviews" then I sorted to show lowest reviews first. Apparently that RAM has much incompatibility issues.
I wonder why I've had nearly 2 years of flawless performance then.
