Will US Apple TV work here in the UK ?

I'm off on holiday soon and would love to pick up a new Apple TV, but would I beable to use it back in the UK ? I know we don't have Netflicks or TV Shows available, but would I beable to link the US TV with a UK iTunes Account to rent flims ?
