I had some software problem I guess some core files got mucked. The Finder would freeze up and my second HDD threw a smart error and sometimes would lock up the finder when I tried to navigate it. Everything would freeze, especially the clock.

Anyways I disconnected the HDD (gotta buy a new one) and reinstalled. I also TM'd my drive before and used that to reinstall some stuff. The computer still seems a bit weird. This was two weeks ago.

If TM copies sys files, won't it overwrite the new files? Or if it was a problem app, wouldn't the 'problem' have been TM'd, and then reinjected back onto the HDD?

Also can someone tell me which folders to copy to backup a specific app? I really hate TM, All my data/ect is on a second internal HDD, I just keep music and pictures on my SSD. I just want to backup my Mail and Firefox. I have like 2 years of browsing and passwords and all that good stuff I don't want to have to re-do.

I have a 13" MBP, SSD with a HDD in the OptiBay.

Thanks.
