Will Virtual Machines work on 64bit only High Sierra

As far as I know all the client-extensions of VMs (Parallels and VMWare) are 32bit apps.
They will not work together with a 64bit only OS.

Need to be updated.

If you have a 10.13.4 beta testing environment available somewhere, you can verify by setting sudo nvram boot-args="-no32exec"as an boot argument (can be deactivated again by setting boot-args to "").

I also have a lot of software in my music studio which definitely will not get any updates, feeling me reminded a lot when Rosetta was abandoned long time ago.
