Will waiting for stores to open cut my chances on pre-order?

I know most of the people on here are going to pre-order the phone online, but I was talking to a Verizon rep and he said he would waive the activation fee for my family of 4 if we come and pre-order the phone!

When they announce it, Do you think waiting till the next day to pre-order it (rather than midnight) will hurt my chances and make me wait 2 weeks after release to get the phone?

I think so. Two weeks wait is worth the savings though.
