Do you think we'll get it via software update, or do you think this is something they are saving to be exclusive on the next-gen iPhone models?

I have no idea. I honestly have been searching for answers for the past few days now. I was pissed when Jobs didn't announce Push for applications or Turn by Turn GPS. I would at least be happy if there was some form of announcement from Apple as to why there is no Turn by Turn navigation.

Where is...

1.) Turn By Turn Navigation
2.) Push (Ok, they said they pushed this back for more testing)
3.) SlingBox Player
4.) Updated iPod Capabilities

I'm honestly not sure what's going on at Apple. The communication is incredibly shoddy lately!

Missing optionS;

Do you even care that the iPhone doesn't have a unadvertised feature?
Only when they pry my GPS(tomtom,garmin,etc) from my cold dead hands.
Sure, as soon as I can charge my iPhone while using it and not have it go dead in 2 hours.

Yes, it will be available as soon as Apple figures how much they can charge for their own software. They know this is the "killer app" Why let someone keep 70% of the profits from the app store when they can make their own and keep 100% of the profit.

That's the only reason turn by turn GPS hasn't been released. They want to make their own and get all the rewards.

It's not comming. The gps chip in the iPhone is not good enough.

If you've ever used your iphone's GPS, you would know that isn't true. That argument came from David Pogue's original iPhone review. The GPS is perfectly accurate for turn by turn GPS. My crappy razor from Verizon had Turn By Turn from cellular triangulation two years ago. My iphone can detect me moving throughout my house. It comes down to money...

in future phones, when they work out induction charging (via a dock for your car), and better battery life all around i think.
