With today's announcement and still no BD support, I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say: no, Apple will never implement Blu-ray on their hardware.

What about you?

PS: Is it just me or does the lack of ExpressCard and a dedicated GPU make the 15" MBP a joke for us professionals?

I don't think Apple is interested in Blue Ray
Quite frankly... neither am I

So, to answer your question... probably not, unless things change dramatically

With both Microsoft and Apple going the way of downloads, I think the days of disks are numbered! Microsoft and there 1080p movie on demand 'Zune store' and Apple on itunes.

Thats my opinion anyway!

To make it worse, they insulted everyone by including an SD card slot. I could think of a couple ways to use an ExpressCard slot, but no reason to ever use SD.

The keynote stated only 1% of users actually use it. Pros will use the 17inch for the matte screen anyways.
