I want 2 monitors that are comparable to my Macbook Pro 14 screen.
Does anyone think Apple will make their next Studio Display:
Pro Motion 120Hz
1,000+ nits
250+ PPI
slim like my 14 inch

Question - Why can't they just build me something comparable in a 27 inch???

If you’re OK with 4K, then 4K 120hz (or greater) mini-LED displays already exist, and they’re pretty damn good.

There are no greater than 60hz 5K or 6K mini-LED panels in development that I’m aware of, which basically means you’ll never get one unless Apple decides to release one. I personally don’t think Apple will bother with those resolutions much going forward, I think they’ll be moving past them to 8K.

There are 120hz 8K panels in development, and I’d expect we will see them in greater number in the next few years. It does seem like industry is settling on 4K and 8K as the standard resolutions.

There’s been exactly that rumored for a while (5k, 27”, miniLED, 120hz); it was first rumored for a 2022 release and now it’s either been abandoned or just delayed until 2024-2025, depending on the source you listen to.

All I would say is to temper your expectations on price. Seems likely to be a fair bit more expensive than the current Apple Studio Display.
