Will we see a Smart Cover for newi iPhone?

Only cover I can see happening is one that flips open from bottom up. It would be weird to have one that opens up like the iPad.
 
They announced the bumper alongside iPhone 4, they announced the Smart Cover alongside iPad 2, what can they muster up now?
 
If it attached to the front and back, maybe. But otherwise it would just probably scratch up the side of your device more than anything, or fall off in your pocket.
 
I don't see that being very functional. It would seem to me, that a smart cover for the iPhone would get in the way of talking when its held close to your ear. Plus it would probably bind up in various ways or come off when in your pocket. I see it serving little to no purpose for a phone.
 
That seems like an awkward cover to use for a phone. I hope what ever the "official" cover seems cool enough to be worth the silly price Apple is sure to charge. The bumper is fine but not for the money Apple wanted.

I have not personally used a smart cover but the reviews are mediocre at best.
 
Ugh, I have to admit with a pinch of shame that I'd buy up a bunch of candy colored smart covers for an iPhone. What a great little invention!

I hope they do, so I can make fun of people. Kind of like I make fun of people for using screen protectors.

But I LOVE my smart cover on my iPad 2.
 
It depends on the iPhone "5" design. iPad cases are more geared toward functionality (and protection) whereas iPhone cases focus on design and protection.
