Will wireless charging ever have fast charging?

Isn’t MagSafe fast charging? (15w).

I think with my iPhone 11, normal qi charging is 5w, with a qc 3.0 charger it can fast charge to 7.5w, so MagSafe is twice as fast on those supported models.

Of course nothing is better than using the cable to charge, but wireless charging is different.

Thanks good info!

MagSafe provides up to 15w, but you have to remember that there are losses with wireless charging that are not present with wired charging. These losses increase as the distance between the wireless charger and phone increases; i.e. cases. 15w is probably, by definition, fast charging (I've never taken the time to look).

As a result of these losses, a wired 15w charger will provide faster charging than a 15w wireless charger will; talking minor differences here. As technology progresses, I expect to see wireless charging increase in performance, but wired charging rates will outpace it--at least until the point we move to a "wireless" world.

Awesome

“Fast” is relatively subjective…are you referring to 7w, 15w or 27w?
The day will come…sooner than later…that all charging will be wireless…but “fast” is all about battery heat management.
Lipo batteries can safely be charged at a 6c rate, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea, especially on a regular basis.
