Uuuumm, Milo. That looks so good.

And in answer to the original question, hell no!!

the only real setback i see with it is the fact that you have to be in a wifi area to use it. If it were offered as a phone from cingular or tmobile for instance, it might be better.

The Nokia approach of normal phone and wifi (using wifi when possible) is a better approach if you ask me.

I think Sony are perhaps struggling at the moment with their hand helds. From reports the PSP isn't selling as well as expected (for various reasons, lack of games being one, lack of UMD sales being another). They've also de-emphasised the media playing capabilities of the PSP in favour of this device it appears.

I personally would be tempted by a Mylo but I would love something similar (maybe no bigger than a DSLite) from Apple. Like a grown up iPod with some pda functionality.

Thing is we all know what we're talking about is a Newton with a HD. It seems unlikely to me that they would come out with such a device at this time.

If there's no phone built-in, then fuggitaboutit. I'm not carrying that and my phone in my pocket, and since I don't carry a purse around with me, I doubt I'd carry it around often, and therefore, I doubt I'd use it much.

I like the idea of that. and it looks very good. AND renders the PSP pointless.

I wont buy because of the very high price tag, oh and the lack of free wifi spots in the UK renders it useless when out.

no.

I'd like to know how this can be priced more than a Pocket PC, yet have such less usability? A pocket PC can have Skype and everything. including a touchscreen, games etc. *sigh*

It can be priced more because it is a Sony. ;)

yeah, I just don't see a market for this. I already need a backpack if I were to bring all my portable electronics with me.

I don't see a time when I would be using it. If I'm on the go, people can just call me on my cell phone or send me a text message. If I'm at home, I can get instant messaging on my computer. Got the iPod for music, so I don't need another device for that, my phone has it too if I wanted. I don't need to IM people that bad while I am out that I would need a device like this.

And, I don't think the design is that great either.

I'll be purchasing the package with the free coffee biscuits that comes along with it :D

Hell no.

I don't like the product, but even if I did - it's "ahead of its time". At least wait for more places to be blanketed with WiFi before releasing something so dependant on it.

To me it seem like a PSP minus the games, plus Google talk, Yahoo and skype... seem like Sony is stepping on it self.. but Opera on the go.. SO nice.. but i'll wait for Opera for my DS. It seem to have 1GB internal which is nice.. now if only it had iTMS support

And according to this report http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2000203,00.asp

no AIM, which makes it pretty worthless as all friend use AIM

Also seem to cost 350... no thanks

IF they made a 100 one, with Wi-Fi support, with AIM.. thats it (no music, vidoes, photos ect) i'd buy it

hell no. in big, bold, black font letters.

a. Sony. why say anthing more.
b. useful for keeping the papers on my desk from flying around when the kids turn the ceiling fan on i guess.
c. way overpriced when used only for option b. (see above)
d. did i mention it was from sony?

Hell no.

Why? Knowing Sony, they'll sneak a rootkit within a rootkit for those Windows users, no support for Mac, if they support Windows. And I can get a Pocket PC (or Palm for that matter) that can do the exact same damn thing for $50 less. And it won't have Sony on it. I have two Sony electronics, a DRX-710UL DVD Burner and a universal remote. The DVD Burner is okay, but glitchy. Remote, well yeah, it's a cheap $15 remote.

Once again, hell no.
