Just wondering what the reaction is to the service... personally I think it's a stupid name and that it's going to be a flop... they should have called it MobileMac instead.

They seem to be targeting Windows iPhone users as well as us Mac iPhone users. Hence the non-Mac name.

As an existing .Mac member, I see no reason why not to stick with it. Not losing anything good. Just gaining. The push syncing is going to rock between my 2 Macs and my iPhone.

I was hesitant to get .Mac, but after seeing mobile me, I thought I'd give it a try. I got a .Mac box for $56 with free shipping at royaldiscount.com, which is a sweet deal. Would I pay $99 a year? It works out to $8 a month. That's not too bad, but at $56, I'm only paying 4.66 a month. Yes, there are free alternatives, but I'll give this a try.

i would happily pay much more for mobileme if i could use my own email address. i dont want to bother with an exchange server setup and associated programs.
