To the folks who are waiting for the redesigned 13/14" MacBook Pro, will you purchase the first generation 2020 model or wait for the second generation so that any issues that may develop on the first generation are fixed on the second generation?

In my opinion it would be smart to wait for the second generation of any product because usually it means getting a better, more reliable product for the same price but since the 16" MacBook Pro is the first Macbook of the redesign, perhaps Apple will learn from any of its issues and rectify the problems on the redesigned 13/14"?
So technically the 13/14" Macbook Pro will be the second generation of the redesign?

Personally, I'll wait a couple months after release and make my decision then.

I’ll probably get it as soon as it’s out. My 18 MBA has been excellent, but only intended as a stopgap. Been using it alongside the old ProBook, so I’ll aim for a 1TB MBP I can throw a windows partition on and go to one device, the pass the MBA onto family.

The best version of the 15" MacBook Pro in the original form factor was 2015. So it took from 2012 to 2015, 4 versions, to get there.

If you are concerned, waiting a month or two is not a bad idea.

I want one but will wait a few months while I listen for user experiences. My 2019 MBA is working fine for now.

As long as they change the keyboard, I suspect the first generation will be Rock solid as they seem to have learned from their mistakes.the 16 is perfect.
