I like how the new Magic Mouse has that smooth inertia-scrolling like the iPhone. Do you think this will be a feature in 10.6.2 or will you NEED the Magic Mouse to use that feature? I think it would be pretty lame that you have to buy new equipment to enable a software feature.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I've been hoping it'll come to the trackpads as well. No reason it shouldn't.

Look for an app called SmartScroll. You can do it right now.

Funny you should mention smart scroll... they said it was compatible with Snow Leopard so I installed it on my MacBook Pro a week ago and it didn't work. It loaded and let me change the settings but it didn't do anything to my scrolling.

Hopefully someone finds the plist edit to make Snow Leopard do inertia scrolling work with any mouse/input device.
