Will you recommend mountain lion?

I have a 17" mid 2009 mbp with 3.2 core 2 duo and 8gb ram.
Upgrading to snow leopard to lion makes my computer slow but after upgrading my ram to 8gb it resolves the issue.

I was hesitated on upgrading to mountain lion because the max. Upgrade on my mbp is 8gb only. And if mountain lion is memory eater. I will suffer again in beachball stuff.

Will you recommend it?

I only have 4GB RAM on my MBA and I run ML just fine
I don't think you will be disappointed
