This year I am really not even gonna stress until there's a known way to decipher which carriers have what types of Modems or Radios. There's a measureable advantage in having a Qualcomm modem. As can be seen below.

Sadly due to Apple fighting with Qualcomm IPhone 8 likely will not have Gigabit LTE speeds. As can be read below.

At least Phones with Qualcomm modems work really well. Hands down my 6s Plus Qualcomm modem crushes my brothers 7 Plus with an Intel modem. I get signal and data in places he can't Period.

I'm a bit naive abt this, how can I tell if my iphone has intel or qualcom modem. Mine is ip7, purchased in singapore. Is there a hardware code? Or all iphone 7 regardless country of origin has the intel? Tq

Not sure I think GSM Have the Intel Modems which are as the Macrumor article shows way worse. While CDMA has a mix of both.

This is just Apple trying to slowly get away from Qualcomm Modems but Intel isn't up to par.

Good question. I will return mine until I get a Qualcomm if it is both :) . Not taking any disadvantages when it comes to signal strength.
