Willl i notice a speed increase? or should i not bother and keep my current MBP?

I have a late 2009 15" Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz w 4gb ram and 500gb HD.. It pretty much doesn't get used "that much" and when i do use it, I do the following...

-Import 1080p video from my Sony HD camcorder into iMovie, Edit and upload to YouTube.
-Browse the Web
-Use Garage band to record guitar tracks using either a external mic or USB guitar preamp

and thats about all the use it gets...Will i notice a huge speed increase if i went with a 15" MBP with a i7 and say 8gb of ram? or no?

Deciding if i should sell mine and invest in the newer model...

Yes, exporting 1080p video will be much faster on the new MacBook Pro.

The transcoding time during import into iMovie and export to YT will be only half as long, even shorter.
The rest will be about the same.
