I dunno where to post, so I'm going to post here...
what exactly is Wimax?

I know it's like internet connection thing like wifi, but is it like, you can connect to the internet in a corn field or something? (With no wifi available)

It's simply a different wireless band. The actual band escapes me at the moment. Theoritcally it should provide excellent building penetration and great bandwidth. Early tests (see recent news stories from Australia) seem to indicate the opposite though.

Sprint is the carrier in N. America that is doing a rollout of Wimax. Chicago and DC I believe?
