I need to forensically clone an older MacBook Pro. I have the software to acquire the drive once I can get Win 7 to recognize it. I installed a firewire 800 card in my PC and when the Mac is in Target Disk Mode it recognizes a new drive but shows it as "no media installed". It acts like a CD drive with no CD inserted.
My forensic software doesn't see any media "inserted" either even though it supports acquisition via firewire target disk mode. Since this is the first time I have tried to acquire a Mac I am wondering if Win 7 is supposed to even see the drive as readable when in target disk mode. But since my forensic software isn't seeing it I am wondering if I have done something wrong or if Win 7 should see it.
Does anyone have experience allowing a Win 7 machine to recognize a Mac Pro in target disk mode? I don't need Win 7 to be able to see the file structure, just that there is a "Disk 1" or "Disk 2" attached when viewing it in Disk Management just as if I had attached a new unformatted drive.
Thanks in advance!!!
