Win 7 on MBP 3,1? Having issues

Im having issues with installing both 32 and 64 bit Win 7 on my MBP 3,1. Once the machine starts reading the disc for initial install I get a "dos" like black screen that looks like this:

Choose CD boot drive...


But then I cant select 1 or 2 or anything. The keyboard does not work, and I have to hard power off the machine.

Any help?

Strange that you say it's both 32 and 64, not just 64. Search the forum for jowie or look at the link above to find a guide to modify the 64 bit install disc so it'll work fine on your MBP3,1. To make up for the fact that Windows expects a different EFI than Apple provides on the MBP3,1.
