Some long overdue updates from Apple on the retina (and I'm assuming other new laptops) - ahci is now natively supported via boot camp. EFI also appears to have been updated as Windows 8 can natively boot in EFI mode; however it failed after first phase of setup for me. Will play with it more eventually, and try win7x64 as well.
For now, ahci support is much appreciated, and it appears the NVIDIA drivers are now functional. Only issue is the boot camp utility won't launch (throws error about not being able to access startup disk) so I can't enable tap-to-click (argh)!
