Any one using unlocked iPhone 5 AWS on Wind here in Canada? Did you cut your sim to make it work? Are you getting 3G or 4G?
 
How is the reception with Wind? Do you get full bars? Any loss of signal you notice?
 
as good as with android; may even be better in some instance as per speedtest. I don't like to measure by bars as it may be misleading.
 
Before cutting sim to nano, Was the original wind sim regular size sim or micro sim?
 
IF anyone in Brampton area, my friend cuts SIM cards in Brampton for as little as $1 :)

When I was in Toronto last week had Wind SIM running on one of my iPhone 5's no problem! feels great I tell ya to be using iPhone on all networks....in the past I had to resort to Android in order to enjoy some cheap plans. (I'm from Toronto)
 
problem here i got aws replacement my iphone was locked, now trying to get it unlocked it's not in the carriers database? Apple said only the carrier can unlock it. I have the aws iPhone but its locked! What are my options?

what carrier is it locked to? send me your IMEI see if I can check for you.
 
Apple told me the carrier its locked to but the carrier doesn't have the replacement IMEI in there database to unlock

Can't help you there as my was an unlocked AWS purchased directly from Apple.

If you cant share then no one can offer to help you beyond what apple is telling you...sometimes there are servers available that we use....
 
What sort of 3g speeds are you getting on the iPhone?

I am on Wind mobile here in GTA getting 3G network, I see my brother who has the samsung note 2 is getting 4G on Wind mobile. Is it possible to get 4G on wind with iphone 5 aws? I think it has something to do with wind not providing carrier update I may be wrong. Currently at carrier 14.0

MMS on iphone 5 and Wind.ca

I have my unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 5 with Wind Mobile sim here in Canada. It works fine for data and voice, but I can't get the MMS to work, only SMS. I can iMessage with another apple email but not via a phone number. Here are the APN settings I have: Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Internet APN:

If u buy iPhone 5 that doesn't have the 1700/2100 frequencies written on box u will b very lucky to get it working. I got 32 gb model in sherway gardens mall in etobicoke. I used roaming sim from wind and had it cut
 
Does phone package say hspa 1700/2100? If not u probably need 2 buy a new iphone. Otherwise get it unlocked.

Has anyone tried calling the iMessage and Facetime server's activation number?

The purpose of the SMS is for Apple's server to verify this phone actually owns the phone number. So when iMessage / Facetime is activating, it sends a shortcode text to Apple. But since Wind doesn't support the short code, there has been some users reporting calling the actual number seems to work.

1. Turn on iMessage. When the text says 'Waiting for activation...'
2. Call the activation server number for iMessage: +445773142076
or Facetime: +447786205094
NOTE: This is an international number to UK.
3. Usually after a few minutes it will activate.
