Window views won't stick

This is a nagging problem I have had since 10.1 and it's really annoying.

I set my Applications folder to "All Windows" view and it stays until I log out. When I log back in it is set to "This Window" with different settings.
I can't get my settings to stick. I've set it and closed the window without doing anything and it still defaults.

Anyone have a fix?
