I've seen that website before, but it's the only place I've ever seen that material. I can't truly believe it because, until I see a site that is more reputable to me.

I've got a Mac II running System 6 purchased in '87 here at home, and it has desktop accessories. They are quite similar in functionality to Dashboard or Konfabulator widgets. They're simple and easy to bring up and close even while working in other apps, even though otherwise System 6 on my Mac doesn't support multitasking (not enough memory for MultiFinder).

Mmmm, can you explain? I mean, I think it's loopy to believe that the moon landing was staged in Hollywood... :D But tons of people have seen the original MacOS and know about the desk accessories in it. Whether or not people agree that Konfabulator, Dashboard, and the others were inspired by them, or if indeed something even older exists in the bowels of Xerox, Apple did the widgets thing a looong time ago.

EDIT: Linzlad, how do you get widgets for what? You can get widgets for OS X Tiger by going to Apple's website. :)

Can you post a screen shot or something? I got my first Mac only a few months after OS X came out. I don't have any experience of anything older. It's just tough to believe something written on one website. I've tried searching for more info, but I don't really know what to search for.

Here's a start...

Granted, this is not the world of CSS, HTML, and Javascript. ;)
