How did I never know I could use LTSC versions all these years?

It's totally great.
It's what Windows should be like out of the box be default.

It's so refreshing to get such a lean, clean, fast and smooth experience that you can add things into if you'd like (such as Windows store & Xbox app & support files for gaming).

I just did a clean setup for a relative and the combo of Win LTSC + OpenShell and RetroBar is just ... heaven.

Some great links:

The perfect LTSC for me is Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 and the iOT LTSC equivalent. It does not install Microsoft Edge by default. It still has a smaller address bar like in Windows 8.x and earlier. File Explorer still loads quicker even when compared to the latest Windows 11 release. It does not have the software compatibility of the newer releases but I'm okay with that. It may not be supported as long as the Windows 10 LTSC 2021 and Windows 11 LTSC 2024 but it still has 3+ years of support until January 2029, still better than Windows 10 22H2 which will be out of support by October 2025.

I think I'm going to give Windows 11 LTSC a go soon, for the HDR support, which I want for MSFS 2024.

I'm acquiring a couple year old gaming PC and have been vacillating on 10 vs 11 and the HDR thing seems to be what may push me to 11.
