I own 2 MacPro's a 5,1 and a 3,1. I simply want to install Windows10Pro on my 5,1 - as I use a sophisticated trading software that only runs on Windows, and while it could be run on Parallels or similar, it is not a viable option for high speed trading.

'I seem to be in an infinite do-loop. I have 2 boot drives, one is Mojave, the other is High Sierra.

The HS bootcamp will not allow anything but Windows 7
The Mojave BC isn't even that advanced, it says "This Mac Pro can not run bootcamp"

In my use case, I only want to run Windows 10 Pro. I do not have to ever boot in Mac OS, as I have the 3,1 and my Mac Applications are not used very often , if at all. I like the expandability and quality of the MP hardware-if you're wondering why I don't just use a "real" Windows PC.

I have a 6-core Xeon,

3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
32GB
and an available SSD for the windows drive (if I ever get there).

'

I have read in the last few years that you don't have to use BC to install windows, but I DO need the window 10 drivers that BC installs- but when I use Brigidare, it says , windows 10 drives are not available for this Mac (or similar language)

Can I 'trick' Brigidaire by specifying a different mac model to get the window 1o drivers?

If so, which mac model should I use.

BootCampESD.pkg installs /Library/Application Support/BootCamp/WindowsSupport.dmg that contains the Windows drivers you need

Thank you!! I looked for instructions, but didn't see any... running this launches an installation process...is this going to install the Bootcamp assistant, or just the windows drivers? If the former, do I need to install on my Mojave boot drive? Do I need to delete the existing Bootcamp assistant first (the existing BC Assistant is the one that is blocked from working)? Thank you in advance for any help.

After downloading BootCampESD.pkg you can just use Pacifist https://www.charlessoft.com to extract the WindowsSupport.dmg from the package, open the dmg and inside you will find this
BootCamp.jpg
As you mentioned, you can install Windows without using Boot Camp, and after install the drivers copied from WindowsSupport.dmg.
