Hi, I had installed Windows 10 in a Boot Camp partition on my Macbook 12". Normally I use it in a Parallels 11 VM. The upgrade to Windows 10 version 1511 didn't work and therefore I booted from my Boot Camp partition. Now the upgrade went through, with the problem that the File Explorer stopped working.

I rebooted to OS X (El Capitan) and Windows 10 didn't show any problem in the Parallels VM. I then assumed that something with the Apple Boot Camp drivers was broken, but when I tried to reinstall these in the full Boot Camp Windows version, it hanged during the Realtek Audio driver installation.

After several retries I started the Windows Task Manager and found a Realtek EXE installer task (sorry, forgot the exact name, but should be easy to find). I killed this process and the Boot Camp installer continued. Afterwards everything seems to run OK again (including the File Explorer).

One additional note: I used CMD-X and opened an Administrator console window, navigated to the BootCamp installer and started it from the command prompt. This felt like the old DOS times all over again!

Hope this info is helpful to some with the same issue.
