HI
now i am wanting to install windows 7 64bit version in bootcamp.
i have checked the compatability list and
my mac pro 15 inch is in it.

but my question is this.

( DO i need any patches or updates to get bootcamp to recocnise the 64bit windows seven. )

I ask because up to now on my other macs, they would only take windows XP 32 bit.

look forward to any replies

Windows 7 64 installs just fine in bootcamp. No special steps involved. But do follow the bootcamp installation instructions carefully. I encourage anyone to print the step-by-step, so that when their monitor is off during a reboot or black, they don't assume something is broken (instead they move along to the next step in the process).

Bootcamp is not a purely "just works" install, nor is it one to "just wing it". Print the step-by-step and execute those steps. Else, see a hundred threads in the archives about the screen being black: "Did I break my Mac", "Bootcamp install failed", etc., answered an equal number of times by telling the winger the next step in the install process.
