Hey, I've installed both OS and I've noticed that the screen is zoomed out a lot. I'm on the 13" MBP from late 13, and without using the 150% text size feature it is un-usable.
However by zooming in, certain applications can't be used since they can't capture images. Im using bootcamp purely to be able to play Runescape without freezing which it does greatly, but I need to use a program which can't interact with runescape due to the high DPI resolution (i think??).
In addition to this, CS 1.6 can't be played due to the resolution. I used the highest available, and recommended, setting.

Is there anything I can do to have it run like a normal windows computer would, otherwise bootcamp is brilliant.

cheers

I am afraid you have to lower the resolution. I had to lower the resolution to 1920x1080 on my late 2013 MBP because otherwise everything looked so small.

I just set the scaling to 200%. Windows 8.1 is far better because it includes HiDPI support. Windows 7 does not.

When playing games, I just use de-retinafied resolutions (i.e. on a 13" I'd play at 1280x800, which is exactly half of retina in both directions, and on a 15" I'd play on 1440x900, which is also exactly half of retina in both directions.

Sometimes, I also use one level up de-retinafied resolutions (i.e. bumping 1280x800 to 1440x900, or bumping 1440x900 to 1680x1050).
