Installing windows through Bootcamp. Currently have v2.0 - Tutorials say I need v3.0.1 to support 64-bit Windows 7.

Do I need v3.0.1 BEFORE the partition install or after? I tried to download the upgrade from the apple website but its an exe. I'd like to have everything correct before I begin.

link to version 3.2: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL979

You cannot download Boot Camp 3.x from apple.com only updates for it.

Windows 7 support is part of Boot Camp 3.x which is part of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Please buy a copy of it. It's cheap at US$29.

You don't actually need to upgrade to SL, but you do need the drivers in W7.
