Apple finally released the updated Windows drivers for the 2012 MBA a few hours ago. I was getting the same error message many folks were getting, but I kept trying and finally they downloaded.
This may help someone else. I upgraded from a 2011 model, so I imaged my bootcamp partition with Winclone. Kudos to the Winclone folks, their software is simple, elegant, and it works. On the new machine I created a partition with disk utility, restored the image with Winclone.
When booting native into Windows 7 after restoring, the trackpad didn't work, and most of the other drivers didn't either. Thankfully the keyboard worked. I put the newly downloaded drivers onto a SD card, stuck the card in the MBA, and using the keyboard navigated my way onto the setup.exe file and ran it. My Windows 7 bootcamp partition is happy now.
One odd thing I noticed was the Windows Experience index showed the exact same value for the memory speed. I thought the RAM on the 2012 was suppsed to be faster. Go figure. Hard drive and graphics picked up a point or so.
I reimported the bootcamp partition into Parallels, and that seemed to work, but I was unable to get into Coherence mode. I researched the problem and the recommended solution was to reinstall the Tools. I got error messages reinstalling the Tools. There was an update to Parallels, so I did that, reinstalled the Tools, and then everything worked on that front.
