Hi guys, I was wondering if any has installed windows 7 on their macbook air 2010 yet? I have the 13' base model with 2gb and am a little hesitant on installing it. Can anyone share their experiences please.

Thanks!

I installed it on a 13" ultimate and it works perfectly. 2Gb should be more than enough.
At work we are running windows 7 on some ancient PC's with 512Mb of RAM.

Just note that:

  • 2 GB RAM is the system requirement for 64 bit editions, 1 GB for 32 bit.
  • You really get no advantage from running 64 bit on a system with < 4GB of RAM
  • With only 2 GB, you would have less RAM for apps under a 64 bit OS than a 32 bit one.

Which is just a long way of saying: stick with a 32 bit edition of W7 and you'll be fine.

I work in IT and I run Windows 7 Ultimate with 1 gig of Ram in VMware Fusion with no issues.

You work in IT, but don't specify if you are running the 32 bit or 64 bit edition?

If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:

1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
