I finally got my network issues running Windows 7 in VMWare Fusion resolved (apparently bridging mode with autodetect messes up all your Mac's network adapters and then acts surprised that it can't connect to the internet =/).
Anyway, now that I have Windows 7 properly connecting to my LAN, I'm finding that it's sending out LAN pings always continuously. My installation is fairly vanilla as I only really use it for testing, or running something that I'll then uninstall afterwards.
I'm working under the assumption that the pings are related to file-sharing or similar on the Windows side as it attempts to detect the configuration of the network, but what I can't fathom is why it's sending them almost without pause. I don't really care about network sharing etc., so long as I can get to the internet from my Windows install within Fusion, so does anyone know which services might be the culprit, and whether it's safe to just deactivate them?
