When I boot Windows 7, all appears normal at first. When I hover my mouse over icons, they light up. But when I attempt to start a program (or even look at my filers via 'computer'), Windows because unresponsive. It will become responsive again, but just momentarily, not enough time to do anything. Eventually, it will freeze up resulting in either a manual shutdown or crash (blue screen).

I have a mid-2010 MacBook (last of MacBook line) with original specs except 4gb RAM instead of 2gb.

I have had Windows installed before on this computer, same copy, twice. I had deleted the partition due to not needing Windows but re-installed it in order to play a game.

The copy used to be fine. I have played on it for several months. I only used Windows to access Steam or Chrome. I used no other applications. I did not download any applications recently. I also started Windows in Safe Mode and Windows did not freeze up or crash.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or is a fresh install required? I normally wouldn't be opposed to a fresh install, but I have my game files stuck on that partition and I was unable to keep Windows responsive long enough to save them to a USB drive.

I have no restore points to restore from.

Thank you for any help!
