If this was from an ISO, burn it onto a blank DVD, create a new partition using Boot Camp Assistant and then boot from the DVD.

it was from an iso and then i unarchived it. so should i burn the unarchived iso onto a cd?

i used toast to burn the iso but i have another problem. toast makes it to 81% (i tried it, wiped the disk, and tried again) but then it stops working, reports an error, and then says your disk is complete (i checked and it has some of the stuff on it) is this the disk's fault or the file's?

You might need a new blank DVD. I didn't know this but Blank DVDs have a shelf like of like a year.

You dont need to use toast. Use the Disk Utility. Search for it using Spotlight (easiest way). Insert your blank DVD and then click burn. Select your ISO file and let it rip
