Windows 7 Install on SL

I am about to install W7 Pro on my 13 MBP. I have read the forums for the last hour using the search option. I found 3 threads stating not to use an upgrade disk. The upgrade disk along with my original XP full version is all I have. Am I going to run into problems installing without a full version copy of W7?

If I read the post correctly you have a full version of xp and a upgrade of 7.
In that case a upgrade disk will not work. You will need to either get a full version or install the xp and then "upgrade" to windows 7. If you upgrade 7 from xp windows 7 will completely erase all of your files etc from xp and install Windows 7.

You can use an upgrade disc. Search for paul thurrott's post on how to do this. Note that you will have to do a clean install using that disc though - you can't upgrade from XP to win 7 - it's going to have to be a clean install.

This worked! I just got off the phone with MS. Now I need to install the drivers...
