Windows 7 issuse

So i just got windows 7 for my iMac. I followed all the steps (make sure everything is up to date and have the drivers on my external HD). After I install Windows 7 iI eject disk (as stated) and the computer is suppose to restart in windows mode, only it doesn't it restarts in OSX. And if i try and boot up in windows it just sits on a black screen.
Any suggestions or fixes would be very helpful thanks.

hold option on startup to select OS X to boot. to make it boot as default use Startup Disk in System Preferences.

Hellhammer, that's what I was following. Ive checked and rechecked it many times. But still it goes to a black screen. The only other thing I can think of is I'm removing the windows DVD to early. There's two points where the computer reboots. After installing updates and after competing installation. Wich one do I eject the DVD at?
