windows 7 library - snow leopard equivalent?

Hi all so today, i learned about the windows library feature which is actually extremely useful to me, how its not useful is that its on windows 7 and i dont have a windows laptop nor do i intend to use one.

so the question is:

is there a feature like this in snow leopard, i havent made the lion upgrade simply because iv yet to try it properly and fall in love with it, no features have yet to astound me..

any ideas about the library feature?

Sounds to me like a Smart Folder, which Apple introduced in Leopard (IIRC). Perhaps you should just look into those.
