Hi everyone, I have a windows 7 pro machine and a MAC OSX.

My Mac used to be able to see my Windows XP machine in the shared spot in Finder.

Now ive replaced it with a new Windows 7 pro machine, and it no longer shows up in the shared spot under finder.

I can go to Go > Connect to Server > and connect that way.

But once I reboot, the Windows 7 pro machine is gone.

Thank you for your help.

I had the same issue. It used to show windows computers on the sidebar but then suddenly disappeared. But then I found that although its not automatically being listed in sidebar, i can get it by secondary clicking on the finder icon on the dock and then selecting "connect to server" or something.

Computer browser is set to auto and is running when I try this.

Anyone else had this issue?

I have heard about going to the finder and then connect to server... I was just hoping there would be a way to make this work easier. The person isnt to computer literate.
