Windows 7 on 13 in macbook pro

hi guy i am looking to install windows 7 on macbook pro
i am a college student and so i got a windows 7 professional ( the UPDATE version) for 30$ and i am looking to install it.
first of i did not know that you cant directly install windows 7 update version on empty hdd (so if i used bootcamp and created a partition, i still wouldn't be able to install windows 7)
can some one explain me what exyactly did i have to do to install windows 7 update ver on macbook pro

i have copy of awindows xp and windows vista. do i have to install that first and then install windows 7??
