Windows 7 - Pics/Videos off iPhone 4S?

When I plug the 4S into a Win7 laptop the iPhone shows up,
I click on it and it shows a Internal Storage/DCIM folder but its empty?

Tried the import pics dialog but it reports no images as well?

SOLVED --- when you connect the iphone to the pc, it must be unlocked at the home screen.
