windows 7 rEFIt

Hi im trying to install windows 7 onto a second hard drive on my macbook pro. to install the second hard drive i had to remove my internal optical drive so now im stuck with an external optical drive. I read online that i must use rEFIt to do this but the problem is i get a large list of errors can someone give me some instructions on how to install windows 7 useing a external optical drive a video would be preferd but even a list would be great
