Windows 7 Ultimate, i5 MBP, option boot takes 10 years

So when I start the MBP, hold down option, it takes literally about a minute to get the two HD icons to pop up.

On our 2.8 duo it takes 3 seconds...

at first i had the 7 install DVD in so I was like oh, I took that out, now there is nothing but still same thing.

I have plugged in

Hmm, strange. Can't help you with that. One thing you could try is setting your OS X partition as boot drive (again) in System Preferences and see if it helps. Sometimes after installing Windows Macs tend to "forget" which boot drive was the default one and keep searching and searching.
