I tried installing Windows 7 today on my 2011 iMac. I have downloaded all the necessary software and put it on a USB ready to go. While attempting to install windows after extracting all the files my mac restarted. After restarting it just booted back into OSX. How do I get around this? I know that restarting is part of the Windows install process.

Press and hold the "option" key when it reboots until you see the boot manager selection screen ... then move the pointer over to the "Windows" icon and press return. Do this for each installation reboot ... or ...

If you are in OS X, select " SystemPreferences / StartupDisk " and select the "Windows" icon to make the selection persistent. Once you have installed the BootCamp drivers into Windows, you will have a similar selection (under the "^" selection) to return to OS X.

Good luck ...
