I'm running Windows 8.1 in VMWare Fusion 6.0.2 (latest) and I've noticed some strange rendering. I have "Use fill retina display" checked so most UI elements scale and look sharp but various browsers have issues.

Only Firefox renders it's UI and web content with retina clarity.

IE renders it's UI properly, but all sites are very small on default zoom.

Chrome's UI and all rendered content is pixelated.

Has anyone else noticed this?
 
Interesting. It seems that this issue affects Chrome 36 and below. Installing Chrome 37 (beta) works well.
