Hey!

I'm trying to put together this step-by-step guide for getting Windows 8 working perfectly on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, early 2011) while we wait for Apple's new Boot Camp drivers. Feedback appreciated. Thanks.

*** WORK IN PROGRESS ***

1. Install Windows 8 from Boot Camp Assistant in OS X:

2. Install NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M video drivers:

3. Install native sound drivers:

N/A

4. Install keyboard drivers:

N/A

5. Install TrackPad drivers:

6. Install Magic Mouse drivers:

7. Restore Windows' classic look (optional):

CONCLUSION:

Revert to Windows 7. Windows 7 was out on July 22, 2009. Boot Camp didn't support it until January 19, 2010. So chances are, it's gonna be a long wait.

Why do you try to install Nvidia graphics driver? The early 2011 has an ATI graphics card.

AMD Radeon HD 6490M graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR5 memory on 2.0GHz configuration; or AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory on 2.2GHz configuration
Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory5

Using the same Windwos Support Files for Windows 7 form Apple worked also fine for Windows 8 x64 for me on a MBP late 2011, which has nearly the same specs. Everything except the brightness works out of the box with the WindowsSupportFiles-Installation.

The MM works as standard BT device.

best regards
