Hey guys,
Used Boot Camp to install Windows 8 RTM yesterday on my rMBP. Played with it for an hour or so and ended up deleting it.
My thoughts:
Overall...meh. And I mean 'meh' towards the 8 experience, not Boot Camp issues. 8 is a nice step forward, but I personally don't see the value in the Metro/whatever it's called interface. It's early, I know. And I get that
Anyway, if you want to play around with Windows 8 with ML Boot Camp you can. I just wasn't wowed by it #bydhttmwfi

My thoughts:
- Needed to use the Windows 7 USB Tool (in Windows) to create the USB key
- Boot Camp wasn't able to create the key (which is understandable)
- Had to copy the WindowsSupport folder onto the USB key in Windows (guessing ML NTFS is the reason)
- Installing Windows 8 on reboot was similar to installing Windows 7 in Boot Camp
- Windows 8 booted with no problem. A few drivers were missing, and were installed using setup.exe in the WindowsSupport folder
- However, when the nvidia driver installed, the default resolution was the native 2880x resolution, making text/windows barely readable. I couldn't quite find the right resolution/DPI settings to make things look "good"
- The Windows Boot Camp software doesn't open. It installs, but gives a permission error when you try to open it. There's a work-around for it, but you need to log in as a second non-admin user to make changes. Basically means you can't make any changes (including changing boot drive) as the primary Admin account
