Ok I went to install windows 8 release preview on my 15 inch early 2011 mbp with a crucial M4 ssd...Windows 8 tells me I need a device driver installed before I can install....common sense tells me its the M4 but I really have no idea what to do....any thoughts?

You haven't specified the error verbatim but if it's the one I'm thinking of you likely have a bad burn/download (this is one of the more common ways it manifests).

My first burn failed too - 2nd burn worked fine.

Wish Apple wouldn't disable USB booting on MBPs, so annoying.

Please let me know. I have a early 2011 15 MBP and the installation crashes for me during the initial installation phase with an IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error.

I'm also using a Crucial M4. A 512GB version with 16GB of ram.

i had the fear of nightmare on installing windows 8.

installed consumer preview on my early 2010 mbp 13" and it keep freezing up that i had to constantly force shut down to the extent that i need to revert back to windows 7 to use it.

wonder if anyone encountered the same problem
