Is there a way to set my imac to go straight to the option windows so I can choose between Mac and Windows without holding down the option button?

When I go to Preferences Start Up disk and try to choose Network Startup I keep getting the error:

"You can't change the startup disk to the selected disk. The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk"

Is there any way around this?

You can use a third party tool like rEFIt or bootpicker to bring up a menu by default.

Why are you choosing Network Startup anyhow?

I thought network startup was the option if I didn't know which one I wanted to choose. Thanks for the reply. Do I download bootpicker on the mac side or the windows side?

Mac. It's distributed by Apple education for use in computer labs and such.
