Hello all,

im wondering if there is anyway to install a .bin windows game on a mac, Ive tried combining Toast titanium and Crossover games but it won't work because i just get some errors, Is there any other ways except the bootcamp cuz i can not get that to work either.

The game im trying to install is Zoo tycoon 2 ultimate collection, Ive got zoo tycoon 1 to work on my macbook intel processor but the zoo tycoon 2 won't work.

Thanks, Jesper

He means in an oblique way that piracy is not condoned and that you should use the disc you bought.
;)

Of course I could be wrong… but how many games are distributed as .bin?

My girlfriend bought the game and my CD/DVD reader is damaged so it won't work and can't either get out cd's that's inside without leaving it in a mac store, So we burned it down to a .bin file and i get to the install menu but i just gets an error, and when we burned it into a iso file it would not even get to the installation menu

Have you tried all these methods for getting a stuck disc out:

Apparently the game contains disc DRM that's not supported by Wine/Crossover:

If you have a copy of Windows it might work with VirtualBox which would do a better job of emulating a working cd drive than Crossover can handle if that doesn't work I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Thanks for the help but seems like im out of luck, Too bad really want to play it, Do anyone of u know if i can run a pre installed game on mac? What i meens is that we moved the game already installed from the PC to the Mac over the network and im trying to figure out how i can run the game, Since it is not installed on the computer but moved over it won't appear in the game list of crossover, Do someone know how to add it to the menu?

Edit: Yes i have tried the methods but the problem isn't that the CD's get stuck that's my old problem, since 2 months back it can not even read a CD so it is time for me to go get a new CD/DVD reader :p

For some games it works but generally you need to also manually copy over all support file %APPDATA etc and the registry entries but here you'll still be hindered by the DRM so it won't work.

first.. you should just use .iso ... or .dmg on Macs...

second, to run this in something Wine based you'd need to use a no-CD crack after it was installed.

Usually you can copy games already installed and run them in something Wine based, but not always... just depends how they made the game.

You might also want to check out the forums at Portingteam.com as I think someone has already ported that game.
